IMMAJ Distributes Computer Tablets to IMMAJ-sponsored MAAP Cadets

International Mariners Management Association of Japan (IMMAJ)Chairman Capt. Koichi Akamine led the distribution of Apple iPad computer tablets to 420 IMMAJ-sponsored cadets and 8 departments of the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) last 02 October 2019.

In his message, Capt. Akamine explained that the computer tablets have 2 purposes: for cadets to access and watch IMMAJ’s collection of training videos to help them with their studies and to boost their job-readiness upon graduation from MAAP; and for them to learn more about their sponsor companies. He also assured that IMMAJ is committed in supporting and guiding the cadets as they pursue their dreams of becoming successful Captains and Chief Engineers in the near future.

The event was also graced by VAdm. Eduardo Ma. R. Santos, President of MAAP. In his remarks, VAdm. Santos expressed his deepest gratitude to IMMAJ for its assistance to MAAP cadets. “For the first time, each MAAP cadet especially IMMAJ cadets have their own tablets for learning. Thank you IMMAJ for this milestone donation given to MAAP and the cadets”.

On behalf of the cadets, ECdt. Jan Mark Louis E. Samarita thanked the IMMAJ for the computer tablets, which could help them in their academics, to learn the most updated information regarding the maritime industry, and to be more connected to their sponsor companies. ECdt. Samarita also promised that they will use these tablets in accessing educational applications that are inclined with their career and will give them an edge to excel in their chosen profession.

After the distribution, a lecture was given on how to operate and access the applications installed in the tablets.
