Full lineup of Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019 entries revealed

July 12 ------ Following the announcement of this year’s Cinemalaya and Metro Manila Film Festival entries, Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino also released its set of official finalists. These are “Cuddle Weather,” “LSS (Last Song Syndrome),” “The Panti Sisters,” “G!,” “I’m Ellenya L,” “Open,” and “Watch Me Kill.” Under the PPP Sandaan Showcase are the movies “Circa,” “Lola Igna,” and “Pagbalik.”

PPP is a week-long celebration of Philippine Cinema where new quality genre Filipino films are screened for one week in all regular cinemas nationwide. No foreign film will be screened during PPP except in specialty cinemas to give the opportunity for the whole country to celebrate its own local films. The event is organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) in partnership with the National Cinema Association of the Philippines.

This year’s PPP will be the banner program for Sandaan, the official celebration of the One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema. The celebration will serve as the inspiration to make films that would define the Philippine film industry as it celebrates its 100th year. The mission of the festival is to recognize Filipino artistry in films, promote our country and its talents globally, protect our film cultural heritage, and empower every Filipino through film development and education. PPP selected movies will screen in all cinemas nationwide from Sept. 13 to 19.
